EDMOND, Okla. – The University of Central Oklahoma Chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society will begin sending out its spring membership invitations to students.
“Golden Key has so many benefits for members, like product discounts and networking opportunities,” member Kalisa Mora said, “the savings benefits you get are definitely worth the money spent on the membership fee.”
Some of those discounts apply on graduation accessories like cords and pins that members are eligible to wear, insurance through companies like Geico and technology discount on Lenovo products.
“I would recommend Golden Key based off of its unique position to provide special prospects, like scholarships and career advice, to students” President Jaeton Cary said.
Golden Key International is also the only international honour society on the UCO campus, with chapters in over eight countries, like Australia and South Africa. This presents a unique opportunity in enabling the large population of international students to remain connected and involved in the organization past their time at UCO.
Combining academics, leadership and service, Golden Key conducts community service projects, ranging from book drives to working with H2O for Life in ensuring sanitary water supply in third world countries through fundraising events.
Invitations are sent out at the beginning of each semester via UCO provided email accounts. Recipients are chosen based on their GPA, of which only the top 15% of those with junior and senior standing are invited.
The spring membership drive will kick off at the beginning of the spring 2014 semester, so keep a watchful eye on your UCO-provided student Gmail account.
